Case Study: Glouchester House – Bellevue Hill NSWThis older style apartment block in Sydney's Bellevue Hill contains 10 three bedroom apartments and enjoys the many lifestyle benefits of being close to shops, schools, beaches and Sydney harbour. "Being built on the corner of a hilly street means we always have to be on the watch for any structural issues," says Owners Corporation Treasurer, Graham Pooley. "When we realised in 2008 that we needed to rebuild our major retaining wall, it was obvious that as a small block, the cost would be too much to impose a special levy. That and the fact that we needed the work done urgently decided us on using Lannock." "Lannock allowed us to choose a longer term, which suited the owners, most of whom are owner-occupiers," he concludes. What was really great however, was being able to get a new retaining wall built within a few weeks of deciding to do it. You can't put a price on that kind of peace of mind." |
